*A number of taxi/transport companies are now claiming to be ‘Carbon Neutral’ however their claims are usually based on purchasing ‘Carbon Credits’ from companies now offering this service. The industry is currently non-regulated; a company can pay a sum of money based on their carbon emissions which is then used to fund carbon reducing programmes in non-KYOTO nations. NO or very little actual reduction of emissions is achieved here in London.
